Browse appeal outcomes by local planning authority or inspector. Free 12-month summaries; trends, comparisons, and breakdowns with Appealbase Pro. Insights is in Beta.

On the website

  • • New local authority directory covering authorities with decisions in the last 12 months
  • • New inspector search — inspectors with at least 10 decisions in the last 12 months
  • • Each authority or inspector page shows decided counts, allowed rate, and recent outcomes — free for everyone
  • • Appealbase Pro unlocks success-rate charts over time, Section 78 filters, period comparisons, and breakdowns
  • • Authority pages list top inspectors; inspector pages list top local authorities
  • • Decision pages link to matching LPA and inspector insights where available
  • • Search an authority’s or inspector’s appeals from their insights page

Find decisions by inspector

Inspector names now appear as new decisions arrive, so you can filter by who decided a case without waiting for the next quarterly update. Pick an LPA by typing, too.

On the website

  • • New decisions now show the inspector’s name as soon as they are added, instead of waiting for the quarterly Planning Inspectorate data refresh
  • • Filter by inspector: type a surname and choose from the list to see only that inspector’s decisions
  • • The Local Planning Authority filter now works the same way — start typing the name instead of scrolling a long list
  • • We’ve removed the Development Type filter, so the filter panel is shorter and easier to scan

In ChatGPT and Claude

  • • Ask for appeals decided by a named inspector, in the same way you already filter by LPA or date

Folders, bulk save, and export

Keep saved decisions organised by project or topic, save multiple direct from search results, and (for Appealbase Pro users) export them for your own research.

On the website

  • • Create folders for saved decisions, so you can keep them together by project or topic
  • • Select multiple search results and save them in one go
  • • Export up to 100 saved decisions in CSV or Markdown format (Appealbase Pro only)

In ChatGPT and Claude

  • • Search your own saved decisions, folders, and saved searches — not just the full database
